    Summary
    This report describes a numerical code for the study of the spatio-temporal dynamics of a reactor. It is written for the reactor TESI in particular, which operates in conditions of prompt criticality. This example was chosen because the classical method of the kinetic eq. is based on the assumption that the reactor is very near criticality. The numerical method, based on the direct solution of the time-dependent diffusion equation, in condition of prompt criticality, should give more accura­te results than the classical one. Although a very special type of reactor is studied here, this work is meant to be a preliminary work for a more general code for power reactors.

    Summary
    The code studies the spatial dynamic of Reactor TESI, in the two groups approximation and one space dimension. Only one group of delayed neutron is considered. The reactor is an infinite horizontal slab and consists, along the height of three regions: R1 =lower reflector, R2 = core, R3 = upper reflector. The lower and upper reflectors are of the same material. The code simulates the movement of the control rods along the height, according to any given law of movement. The rods are substituted by an equivalent poison uniformly distributed in the rodded region. If some rods remain in the reactor they can be simulated by an equivalent poison l uniformly distributed all over the reactor. The core is not cooled and the temperature increases as the integral of the flux. The reflectors remain at the initial temperature. The code calculates the evolution of the fluxes and temperature and precursor concentration in space and time during the power excursion.

    The author is currently developing a theory of computation, whose purpose is to provide a method for designing algorithms and tools which make use of them in unitary, flexible, compact, procedureindependent form. The basic principle of this theory is to represent any algorithm (or machine) as a (possibly recursive) function of the data whose value is the set of the results. This theory should cover all basic processes for which digital processors are normally used.

    Für die Dampfdruckmessung hochsiedender und -schmelzender organischer Substanzen nach der statischen Methode wird eine neue Form des Isoteniskops beschrieben. Als Sperrflüssigkeit dient Gallium. Mit dieser Apparatur wurden Dampf drucke von o- und p-Terphenyl bis zu etwa 5 000 Torr gemessen.
